My 2024 business strategy

I’ve never felt this pumped about a year starting in my professional life. I feel like 2023 served up countless lessons and 2024 is the year of application. Below is a pretty thorough look into my 2024 business strategy. Feel free to use this as a guide to create your own if you need inspiration!

My 2024 business strategy.

This strategy has been a long time coming and I hope this gives you a clear idea of what I plan on delivering in my business for the year as well as some a-ha moments for your own business. Strategy is my love language and this was an absolute blast to whip up.

My mission.

It took an entire year to realize that most of what I was doing in my business wasn’t aligned with anything besides helping clients with their marketing, systems and strategy. I loved it (still do), but I didn’t tie it to anything and that made me feel really heavy and cloudy when the work wasn’t ‘working.’

I figured out my new mission statement while on holiday, go figure!

My mission: to help business owners create more white space in their calendar.

When you create more space, you give yourself time to DREAM BIG.

When you have room to dream big, you give yourself permission to think outside the norm.

And when you think outside the norm, you create your best work and live your best life.

It all starts with more white space in your calendar. And that happens when you simplify your systems to help you do the heavy lifting in your business and remove unnecessary work.

Where I’m at vs. where I want to be

Reviewing where I’m currently at in my business wasn’t necessarily fun, but I did see glimmers of hope with the work I’ve been implementing lately. I know that taking a step each day towards my future vision will soon become a reality.

Where I’m at:

  • 80% time is taken up by 1:1 projects

  • Revamping Small Wins 3.0

  • No evergreen funnel set up for my online course

  • Building a new all-in-one workspace in Notion

  • Primarily working with NZ clients

  • Not consistent with content creation

  • Getting out of a year-long fog

Where I want to be:

  • 20% 1:1 projects and 2x international retreats are sold out each year

  • SYS course is Evergreen with weekly enrollments

  • My digital product/template vault is live

  • All systems are established

  • Global clients who challenge me to upskill and better my offers

  • Working with a mentor

This is such an important exercise to do for your strategy. If you don’t understand where you want to go, you’ll wander aimlessly to the land of scrolling on social media and never return.

My goals.

I’m only looking at my business goals here - not my lifestyle or personal goals. I created these goals based on where I want to be, NOT where I’m currently at.

Business goals:

✔️ Establish a digital product + template vault

✔️ Create and send 50 weekly emails (f*ck)

✔️ Throw myself in the deep end and run 1x sold-out business retreat

✔️ FINALLY create a new visual identity for SWCO

✔️ Change the lives of 50 new students with my online course, Simplify Your Systems

✔️ Become the go-to resource for business owners to learn how to confidently manage and organize their business with systems and project management

✔️ Go to Japan for a reccy trip to plan my first international retreat for 2025

✔️ Feel as excited and joyful about my business at the end of the year as I do now

✔️ Incorporate my love of Japanese design, travel and stationery into my business

As you can see I don’t have a revenue goal here - I would like to hit $250,000 NZD in revenue this year, but I’m more focused on getting the foundations of my new business direction in place and start to position myself in front of the right audience and customers. The money will come - I’ve proven to myself over and over again I can make money :)

The work.

To reach those epic goals of mine, there’s a decent amount of foundational work I need to do. This isn’t the full list of work, but it’s a good start and hopefully gives you an indication of how to break down the work from your goals so you can build the path to achieving them.

✔️ Research and survey my target audience for their project management needs

✔️ Test new workshop topics

✔️ Review weekly email analytics to see what resonates with my community the most and double down on content

✔️ Ask for help with running a retreat - upskill in retreat management + and coordination

✔️ Book a photographer for brand identity brainstorming and session (possible videographer as well)

✔️ Focus my content on my four areas of service and review what’s working monthly - listen to what my ICA is saying

✔️ Create revenue milestones and rewards to incentivize me to get my Japan trip booked

✔️ Break down my goals into quarterly milestones and map them out in Notion with my goal progress tracker

✔️ Regularly conduct self-check-ins and quarterly audits to make sure I’m on track and enjoying my business

✔️ Brainstorm and plan fun ways to inject my hobbies and interests into my content and offers

Who I’m working with.

I want to work with business owners who dream big, do the work AND put customer service/client experience at the top of their priorities. Their service is next level and they’re known for it.

I want to support established biz owners who are at a crossroads in their business. They want to do something different. They want their time to be spent making an impact, getting results and using their zone of genius.

Whether it be adding a new course, hiring, getting rid of 1:1 work and doing group programs, or needing to revamp the backend of their business, they’re ready to do the work to make the change.

They know at the end of this change is more freedom and white space in their calendar.

How I will help.

Everything I do will stem from my mission to help business owners simplify their systems to create more white space in their calendars.

I’ll be supporting business owners to simplify their systems in these four areas:

  1. Time management

  2. Business organization & planning

  3. Systems & operations

  4. Project management & digital tools

My offers.

These offers will be rolled out over the next few years, with some of them pushing me out of my comfort zone (I’m looking at you, boot camps and retreats!):

• Monthly newsletters

• Business planning retreats

• Project management boot camps

• VIP CEO Days - Strategic planning

• Quarterly online workshops + training

• Online courses - Simplify Your Systems

• Digital products - Asana/Notion templates

These offers will be across a range of prices from budget-friendly to high-ticket. I want to help established business owners and service providers simplify their systems, no matter how big the project.

Where I will be hanging out.

One thing I know I’m not going to focus on this year is being everywhere. Here’s where I plan to hang out and connect:

• Networking events

• LinkedIn - weirdly love it

• Instagram - mainly IG Stories

• My local library - because, books

• Online workshops - excited to share stuff

• Other businesses’ programs/memberships

• My emails - weekly and monthly newsletter

These visibility opportunities will help me connect, grow and inspire others to invest in their business’ stability and simplify their systems, tackle their fears of digital tools and run their business effortlessly.
